Mine all Mine

rode the mine country challenge put on by gaba
my original thought was to do the metric century since I had never done a century with other folks and I had to strip down the commuter for it.
i knew a friend of mine was a likely participant so I contacted him and
he advised tha i would be an
utter moron
to not do the century
that was only 93 miles
and 7k feet of climbing.
damn that was fun.

except for globe.
that was freaky.
be careful out there.

it was a great ride. the climb from
superior to globe had me jelly from climbing
i was happy to see something worth stopping for
and even caught a rider in the shot

as the ride progressed i found my stride
and caught up with some of the folks that left as soon
as they registered.
funny sky when i was driving up

scenic superior. kind of lik a small bisbee before the free spirits. and more rednecks.

snow on the climb to globe

if it can't be grown it must be mined.
course enviro. friendly mining is ideal.
not sure i'd be willing to live so close to so many open mines.

the scenery after globe was spectacular and the roads got better.
the tailwind however turned into a headwind that saw me out of the saddle for miles on a climb.

the downhills were stupid fun.

fixin the valley

went out on the fixie today.
had to get something out that
took up residence in my lungs.
we had winter for the weekend.
sat it rained in the valley and apparently
snowed around it. way to break the record
130+ days of no precipitation.
some mud, some bike, some miles
makes for a good sunday.
also figured out how to link up the longer yard ride/metro loop that has been the works for a year.

blog this

not much bike content. my body has been all wacked out this week. i think its the pristene phoenix air.
now on to politics.
i'm at my wits end with this administration and people that say "I like Bush, he wears jeans". Umm he also lies to the American people - time and time again, creates huge monetary giveaways to his cronies, spies on you and breaks the law doing it, is creating massive debt that results in foreigh banks owning more of us than you have any idea.
this is an empire on the decline, aw crap, you don't you?
here is some stuff

I did manage to ride my bike to work today and pick-up the munchkin from daycare with the burley. ride tomorrow night with the bushpusher and hopefuly sunday a road/gravel epic with travass and crew. need to switch the tires from the cross fixie.

ya gotta check this out
too bad it wasn't in BC
cuz it coulda looked like this
and no it's not me and it's not the US

one speed

killer ride with killer folks.
the bushpusher and i had happy hour at oak creek.
flo, todd and sswizzle arrived later in the night.
flo had shock trouble so we had a late start but still managed a brutal 25 miler that was all kinds of fun.
the gnome met us at mtb heaven in the morn and we got a temp fix for the shock and a bead on a new variation for the ride.
the ride was no joke.
it still hurts so good.
retire to camp for carne and beers and a few more beers.
