plan b

I got up at 5am intent on
getting up to sedona to ride with
(follow their tracks at a distance)
chad, max and dave.

no such luck. i-17 was closed at carefree hwy.
the detour was via wickenburg.
i don't think so.














so i made a u-turn and headed over
to south mtn to ride national.




























at the startof national
i ran into ricard, perry and others.
they had a nice social pace
and took time to session the technical ups.

i learned some new lines. it was good.
i hung out until just below the towers where
they headed back down national.
i figured on at least telegraph pass
but still wanted more at that point.
































































so i continued on nat'l until ranger.

i think i saw brian passing us on national
and dara on the road up national. other folks
taking advantage of an awesome morning.

sunday

woke up late.
went for a ride.
didn't really know where i was going.
ended up following the water to the west.

so we were supposed to go down to
southern az this weekend but due to trail impact
and possibly driving 4 hours each way to sit in the car
that was nixed.
we approximated by camping out
in the mcdowells in the rain instead.

it started raining on my way out.














the republican and i set up the tent in the rain.
that was fun.

it rained all day friday and parts of saturday.
we haven't had rain in 4 months.
it was nice.
also makes for some prime trail conditions not long after the rain stops.
so chad and i rode national today.
the trail was perfect. sticky.
a little slick on some of the rock moves.
i'm getting addicted to climbing national.
chad got some nice pics of my better side.
