silent sunday

I left the house at 6am and 52 degrees. My jaw involuntarily chattered for the 1st mile as I'm a huge cold weather wuss.
Once a month the Parks Dept. closes the road up South Mountain to cars. This creates a boon for cyclists, hikers and skateboarders. I wish they did it more often. I rode from home to join the parade.

Early and blurry

About a mile after this I saw a guy sitting up against a store and dropping a duce.
South Phoenix is so nice.

It's a hair over 7 miles to the top.

The ride back down is super fast and fun.
Filled up on water and back up one more time.

These guys were having a blast.

Der hammah caught me at the top.

Shortly thereafter we ran into a bunch of rideaz'ers heading down National on knobbies.
This dude was headed back to to our neck of the woods so he rode with hammah and me.

Or rather, he drafted John and I drafted him.
